My plant came waterlogged. Is it salvageable?

3ft to light, indirect

5β pot with drainage

Last watered 1 month ago
Is there anything viable left on the roots? Anything not mushy and brown? If so I'd cut off all the brown, root rot, clean the good roots, give it some good well draining soil and a pot with holes in the bottom. Water an empty pot with your fingers crossed til you see something grow π€ I'm a firm believer that most plants can be saved with care, time and patience π
I saved an over watered plant by repotting it from glazed ceramic to terra cotta. When I unpotted it I removed as much of the wet soil as possible but was VERY careful not to break or disturb the roots. I left the plant unpotted, sitting on top of dry soil but not planted, for 24h, and then planted it in fresh dry soil. I left it to dry out for a couple of weeks before watering again, and gave it lots of bright indirect light. The leaves stopped wilting and It started putting out new growth in about a week. Good luck! I hope it pulls through.
@CopiousDracena wow. Thatβs interesting. Iβve never tried that, but it sounds like a clever way to save a plant.
@teacher12 thank you! if you ever try it, I'd be interested to hear how it works
