Mites

#BostonFern
How do I get rid of mites on a boston fern?
6ft to light, indirect
16” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 month ago
Oh no! Are you talking about spider mites? You can treat these with neem oil spray! I also recommend adding peppermint oil to the spray as it suffocates spider mites & packs that extra punch !
You get spray with neem oil and gently mist or wipe with a cloth over your plant. I’m guessing by the picture that it is quite big, so you may need a considerable amount. You can get just mute spray in general, but it should contain neem oil so it will actually help what you’re asking of it. Good luck πŸ€žπŸ˜‰
If it's "only" normal spider mites, I just shower it. My fern wasn't a big fan of oil treatments, and I seldom go in heavy duty for those mites on plants that don't mind getting their leaves wet. I just cover the soil (so they do not drop in or the soil gets soaked) and then thoroughly shower it, every other day for a while.
And if that fails, by now, I'm an avid advocate for predatory mites. They give me so much peace of mind, it's ridiculous.
