Will this plant do well on south side and near an AC unit...

Adenium obesum are succulents, so they should definitely not have a drip system. The soil needs to dry out completely between waterings. The profile indicates that it does not have drainage. You will definitely need to remedy this. Be careful not to get the leaves wet as these plants are prone to developing fungal issues under such conditions. South sounds great for the sunlight factor as they need at least 6 hours of direct light. Concerning the AC unit, how close is it? Will it blow directly on it? The drying aspect may be a benefit for succulents as opposed to the deleterious impact it has on tropical plants. I wouldn't put it too close as these are desert plants that prefer hot weather. You live in Arizona, correct? I'd put it outside as long as it is warm, and then when you do bring it inside, you will likely not be using the AC as it will be cold in general. Does that make sense?
