Yellow leaves and new growth?

#Begonia My angel wing begonia has yellow leaves on the bottom of its stalks (some have brown/dead tips) but is consistently putting out new growth. Is this an underwater issue, or something else? #AngelWingBegonia

More than likely this is due to overwatering. You should cut those leaves off and if you can, check the roots for rot.
@bpcourtney Hi Courtney, this happens when leaves die off. I don’t think you need to be alarmed if your begonia is producing new growth. My begonias drop a yellow leaf when it receives a bit too much water. Generally, when I stick my finger in the soil I can judge whether they need water. They don’t like to be kept soggy yet they need to be moist. If you’re noticing more leaves turning, ease back on the watering cycle. Also depending on the type of pot it’s planted in could determine whether your begonia is staying too wet. Most of my begonias are planted in terra cotta or clay pots to ensure the excessive water wicks away. I do have some in plastic containers. Please keep us posted how your begonia is doing.
