how can I save them 😭

I think my place is too humid or I over watered them. They feel soft + soggy and are wrinkly 😭
4” pot with drainage
Last watered 4 months ago
Hey @AwakeStarcanary,
I haven't seen lithopses do that for a long time. It is definitely a water issue. How often are you watering them (the soil looks wet)? And what kind of soil is it in?

They dont need watering often (let the soil dry out completely) and need to be in at minimum succulent soil, if not add more gravel, you do not want thier roots staying wet this will lead to rot. The pot also needs drainage for similar reasons.

I would change the soil to start with and let them recover before watering again.

Also dont water when they split as they are drawing water in from the leaves so adding water is too much.

And try #succulentsquad #livingstones #lithopsarmy tags in your post to find more lithops people
@AwakeStarcanary those two will definitely die.
The rest you should remove to dry substrate.

I water differently so that there is no chance of the substrate staying wet too long and causing rot.

@UltraKoreanfir have you tried that method? How is it?
Im a little worried about pulling them out and putting them back into soil.
@TheLonelyDaff Yes, this is the only method I use to water Lithops now. They plump up nicely! But I only water like twice a year. And never if they're splitting, like you said. I tried to help a young one that was splitting but couldn't quite get the job done by hydrating it a little. It looked fine to start, but turned to mush a few days later.

I use Pon, so mine are sitting in rocks, not soil. It's a little easier to remove them and place them back in their home.
