This poor snake plant sos

#Dracaena I’m working to rescue this plant. She was previously in extremely old and dry soil. I’m waiting on some chunky soil with perlite to get here. As of now she’s in normal soil, freshly watered (she hasn’t been over watered in the past). Getting her into a terracotta pot tomorrow. What else can I do for her? Her leaves are so floppy and sad.
1ft to light, indirect
10” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
Be careful not to water her too much since she was in previously very dry soil.

It kinda drowns them when they are not used to being watered on a normal basis.
If she was repeatedly dried out and her roots were affected. Than the opposite direction will drown her.

Go slowly on the water that way she can adapt to a normal watering schedule.
It can take a few weeks for them to adapt so don't expect results overnight.

Her danger will be adding too much at once. Since fresh soil will hold more water use extreme caution. If she stays wet for more than a few days, add more aeration. Keep adjusting your soil with chunky pieces of bark, perlite etc. until you find the perfect ratio.

If the soil stays damp past 3 days grab some tampons and stick them around the pot to pull out excess moisture. ❀️
@SuperbRaspfern wait that makes a lot of sense wow thank you!!! Will be taking this advice 🫢🏻
@Celiesplantarmy You are very welcome ❀️
I brought a very sad dry snake plant back to life recently so have a bit of experience. I put mine in pearlite (no soil) and put her in a spot with bright light a few feet away from the window. I kept the pot on top of a saucer with water. You might want to try that until she gets healthier. It will keep the roots aerated.
@Anabananaaz did you completely clean off her current roots from all the dry soil? Also what type of pot/how deep or big? Thank you so much!
@Celiesplantarmy I did clean off her roots. On my plant they were so small. I also cut off dead tips on the plant. In the end I was left with a very sad looking plant. I put her in a 6" pot, as her roots were so small and I used a clear pot so I could see root development. The only thing is that I got algae in the pearlite but by then I had enough roots to just transfer to a 6" terra cota.
@Anabananaaz thank you!!! I do appreciate the advice
I didn't go crazy to try to clean off roots tho. I just kinda shook off at gently took off what I could with a brush.
