Help! Lady finger turned white out of nowhere. It gets a ...

1ft to light, direct
6ā€ pot with drainage
Last watered 2 months ago
Hi Eleanor! It sounds like your Lady Finger Cactus might be experiencing some stress. Turning white can be a sign of sunburn, underwatering, or overwatering.
Here are a few things you can try:
* Check the roots: Gently remove the cactus from the pot and inspect the roots. If they are mushy or rotten, it could be a sign of overwatering. Trim away any damaged roots and repot the cactus in fresh, well-draining cactus soil.
* Adjust the watering: Make sure you're not overwatering or underwatering your cactus. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings.
* Monitor the sunlight: While Lady Finger Cacti like bright light, too much direct sunlight can cause sunburn. Consider moving the cactus to a slightly shadier location or providing some shade during the hottest part of the day.
Keep an eye on your cactus and adjust your care as needed. With a little TLC, it should recover.
Hi Eleanor, I agree with @USAGardenHub , it look like your pot may be too large for your cacti. Iā€™d try a 3-4 inch pot.
