I am confused! They like direct sunlight or not?

2” pot with drainage

@vanesa_rangell No. I think what they mean is a bright light, but not direct sunlight. Some olants will sun burn in direct light, but need bright light to thrive.
some succulents can burn, like a sunburn, in direct sunlight. i’m going to assume that this cactus wants super bright light, or as close as you can get to it without it actually seeing the sun. hopefully that helps
@Aikalovesphilos ok but did you see the app it’s telling me two different things? In the guide say yes for direct sun and in the description of the plant say indirect light
@ZestfulDewberry it’s not a cactus, it’s a carnivorous plant
@vanesa_rangell i didn’t know that. regardless they still need a lot of light and a grow light sounds perfect to me but i’m also not an expert either. looks good either way!
@vanesa_rangell I think what it's saying is it can tolerate direct sunlight but does best in indirect light πŸ€”
No direct sun however you it does best in indirect light. You’ll have to acclimate your plant to direct sunlight and hope it doesn’t burn since it needs soil that retains water. Direct sunlight will cause rapid evap and subsequent death. While it can learn to tolerate direct sunlight, that would be in its natural habitat which is not in your geolocation otherwise it would grow there naturally. Therefore, indirect light will serve it best to protect it from overexposure. If this plant is not native to your area, then I would go with indirect sunlight to stay safe. 😁
