Hey so I have this little pink princess philodendron pup that I found growing out of the soil/base of my XL #PPP (as some of you have seen π
)
I don't know much about this... Why did it pop out a pup. Is this normal? It doesn't really have a root system and I'm also curious about it's variegation.... It's already speckled. Will it most likely keep up the variegation? Why does it even exist.
I got a bunch of questions and need a Philodendron fanatic to throw some knowledge at me. π€

Pups are normal for these plants, they'll send up branches off to the side that pop out as babies.
The variegation is in the genes of the plant so it should have a similar amount of variegation as mom.
To encourage the variegation to continue give this little bit a lot of bright indirect light and a lot of humidity.
Baby philos are so cute π

@tmbryant37 thank you! I tried googling it but didn't find any info.
