@VastCoralbeads If you just recently repotted it might be just showing signs of shock. Water really well when the first inch of soil is dry and then don't water again until it's dry again. Watch her for a few days to see how she does.
Compost is typically too compact and often suffocates plants if not careful. I would recommend a more chunky mix of soil with some perlite and coco bark etc mixed in. If the soil isn’t able to aerate, the roots will suffocate and you will experience root rot. Fast. Crotons are notorious for drastically dropping leaves the minute this process begins. Typically your first warning is that leaves are frozen in growth, second is that leaves start to droop, third is leaves drop. If you’re seeing the first and second signs, immediate check the soil, remove as much of the current soil from the roots, rinse to take as much of the fungus from the roots, cut off any unhealthy roots with sanitized shears, and repot in more aerated soil. Happy Petra leaves point to the sky, unhappy ones point to the ground. They really do speak to us! 😊 I would consider shock too but I once seriously disturbed the soil in mine, removed half the soil, roots dangling and all, and my Petra did way better that same day. She was way happier about not having suffocated roots than disturbance of her root system. Good luck! You got this!
