I would repot with Well draining soil after washing off the roots, Ferns like indirect light. They love being misted and just double check for any bug damage. Make sure he's not sitting in water after watering him - he could drowned and when you bottom water him as some Epsom salt to the water. Good luck! I just purchased my first Boston fern as well
