Avocado
I put an avocado pit in a bag and a root is peeking out (😃). Now what? Do I put it in water or keep it in the bag? #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #Avocado (mild) #RootPorn

You can put four toothpicks around the avocado and then put root end in a half glass of water. Roots will begin to form. This is the way it used to be done.
@Pegster Will do
@ABCD Hope you are enjoying our beautiful Richmond weather.
@Pegster I am and so are my plants 😃
Should sprout soon!
My one in water is thriving!! I had one in dirt too but it got a really bad fungus gnats infestation so I put it outside and the temp dropped and I basically killed it. I will add pics once’s I’m home! I don’t honk it looks cool in water!
@ABCD Perfect šŸ‘
Wasn’t long ago I had this one in water! Been such a fun plant to grow from seed. Best of luck 🄳
Started in a baggie late feb and this is it today
@ABCD I wish you the beat of luck. I tried it with two and had no luck. I’m going to try again when I remember to pick up an avocado šŸ„‘.
The toothpick thing never worked for me. I tried 6 in bags, and the 3 I left until they started poking out are baby trees now. The other 3 cracked open too but I stuck all of them in regular soil and they still look the same from what I can tell. šŸ˜“
@ZombiePanda I only put toothpicks in it after it rooted
