Thatβs a Rex I have the same one. When they are small they can have pointed leaves but as they grow bigger they start to get more round. They also get more polka dots with age. So when it starts getting spots all over donβt panic and think there is something wrong thatβs just what they look like. π
You want a soil that does not stay wet so whatever you choose add plenty of bark for aeration they donβt like wet feet. Plenty of light mine thrives under a grow light. And allow to dry almost completely before watering. Donβt forget to feed it with a liquid fertilizer they like that.
They are really easy to grow you shouldnβt have any problems.

@SuperbRaspfern do they like to be bottom watered or no? The soil it is in seems healthy and it's not root bound, so I don't plan on repotting just yet
They are not picky at all I top water with no issues. But bottom watering is fine too. As long as itβs a chonky mix and you donβt notice it staying heavy or wet than I would leave it too. No rush especially since they are easy plants to grow. I got mine as a cutting for free years ago as a surprise. Itβs one of my favorites they are so unique and each leaf is always a bit unique and different. You will love it. π
@SuperbRaspfern thank you. I found it's a variegation of the rex. Which is why it looks different. It's such a pretty plant. I'm excited π
