hi @FocusedGreen33! Your Gold Dust Croton is likely losing leaves due to stress from changes in light, temperature, or watering, which are the most common causes! Crotons need bright, indirect light as well. also make sure the temperature is around 65-75ยฐF! hope this helps!

First of all, you need a good pot with drainage, otherwise the plant's roots sit in standing water and eventually get root rot.
Be sure to use distilled water. Tap water is deadly for plants because the added chemicals.
Last, but not least, Crotons like light. I wouldn't recommend indirect light
