Its normal. They just priduce that red pigment as they form. It just goes away slowly Here are various stages

I think it’s adorable! Just trying to be individualistic!! Let him be and see what happens I say (I could be dead wrong but then again I could be correct & if u end uo deadheadibg it, u abd he & ur plant will surely be no worse off!!

It’s edema btw, seems nobody really answered the question. It’s not normal as it comes from over watering but it IS very common. It’s not harmful so they say but cut back a bit on watering and you shouldn’t run into this issue too much more. Mine really likes to dry out between watering so I try to negelect it just a bit πŸ˜‚πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
