Why is he so long 😭😭

Can someone explain to me how my poor little aloe went from being so cute and chonky to LONG AND SKINNY πŸ’€πŸ’€ he still sits by my windowsill and gets bright indirect light from all angles πŸ€”

He looks so weird but I still love him 🀣 I just don’t understand why he decided to grow out this way! All of his other aloe friends are still chonk and compact πŸ₯² care has been the same other than the fact that he was repotted to a slightly bigger pot. Could that be it? πŸ₯²

πŸ“Έ first pic is today, second & third picture is when I got him from an anon #fairyplantparent this year July πŸ’šπŸͺ΄πŸ«ΆπŸ½

1, keep in mind that as days go by, the sun not only isn't out as long but also the intensity decreases as well, so even though he's in the same spot , he could just be stretching for more light.

And 2, your theory about the repotting could also be correct. When you repotted him, his roots could have been all like "oooo lookie all this space! Let's fill it!" And rocked a growth spurt of sorts lol.

I'd say as long as he is still healthy, to not change up anything, unless you want to put a grow light on him.
I agree with Brittany. It doesn't really look like it's getting leggy, maybe just a growth spurt.

Plants just gone do what they do πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ! πŸ˜†
@misapo Thank you for your comment! I did have a grow light on him for a month but it seemed like he did not like it (he started getting red splotches on his leaves) so I placed him back in the windowsill and that’s when he took off! Maybe he was stressed out by the artificial light and preferred natural? Could be it! @jaysjungle as long as he’s a healthy boi, that is really all that matters! Thank you both sm πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š
@dreamlettuce yeah I think you made a good call with the red splotches, could have been the plant equivalent of sunburn. Definitely better to just have him be leggy than burned, that's for sure! Especially when leggy is just leggy but burned brings on other probs too! I've found my aloe always are finicky with grow lights too!

And youre very welcome!
@dreamlettuce I agree with @misapo πŸ’―
