When should I separate the pups?

This darling has been working on these for awhile, and I’ve just kinda let her do her own thing. Unfortunately, a couple weeks ago her β€˜flower’ had rotted off and I could literally pull it off in my hands, and so I’ve been keeping an eye on the pups to make sure they’re ok.

The pups have been steadily growing still, and I was wondering when would be the test time to separate them (and how!). I know they’re still quite small at the minute, but I’ve never propagated air plants before, so I wanna make sure I get it right!!

I am curious as well! Got a couple and both have pups coming in.
Not yet. Not big enough to remove off the mother plant . I usually wait until they are about 5” tall and a bit more mature.
@Hoyaobsessed great thank you!! Will they develop roots or stay rootless like a tillandsia?
When it gets big enough take it out of the pot and loosen the soil around the pup.. take a sharp blade and run it along the mother plant to remove baby. When you do that when the baby comes off you will see where the roots will form… if it’s big enough you will see the roots… here is one of mine I am about to remove the babies
@Hoyaobsessed ahhh I see, thank you!
