What is this?

I noticed this spot on my blushing philodendron this afternoon and I have no clue what it is. Anyone have any ideas? I just looked at it again and I think it may be a new bloom coming in.

@Alexlatney01 Hi Allie. Welcome to Greg!

That is a new leaf coming in, This Is How they always look. Enjoy watching it unfurl but beware, they can take a pretty long time. It's best not to try to force it out because you'll break it. It happens to almost everybody who tries. Just let the plant do its thing, and if it's having a hard time getting the leaf out, try just increasing the humidity. You can Spritz the leaf a little bit with some water, some people say that's helpful, I've not found it to make any difference.
@UltraKoreanfir Thank you so much! Iโ€™m kind of new to the plant world so I really appreciate the advice :)
@Alexlatney01 No problem! Anytime. Ask whatever you need. People on this app are very nice and helpful. It's a no judgement zone, so anything you want to learn, there's probably someone on Greg who's had the same plant, problem, pest, etc. ๐Ÿ˜

If you want to see posts about #philodendron use a hashtag, and start typing. A list will pop up if a group exists, and will show you the number of people in that group. Then you can click on the link (try it, click on the one above) and join. Then you will be able to go into that group and see many of the discussions that have taken place about that topic. Be advised though, often times people tag more than one thing and the conversation can go a bit sideways ๐Ÿ˜

And, if you want to get a certain person's attention, you can tag them by using @

For instance, @ultrakoreanfir - I look at the ongoing conversation list, and will see that I was tagged so I can come to the post to see what's up. It's not foolproof because the person has to be pretty active daily and be paying attention, but inevitably someone else will see the post/question and provide input.

AND, the tech team is working on some new updates to improve the app experience, so we're all excited to see what's coming. I hope you enjoy getting involved with Greg. It's a fun place to be.
