To divide or not to divide?

#Monstera well apparently I have three plants in the pot - it’s how it came when I bought it. Now I’m wondering if I should keep it as is, separate 1 plant (2 plants in 1 pot and 1 plant in another) or just separate them into 3 pots?
What do you think?
5ft to light, direct
10” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago

Big box stores often stuff multiple plants together to make them look more full.

Whether or not you decide to separate them is totally up to you and whether you’d like o have two or even 3 of those bad boys or not!

Do you prefer to have a big, bushy looking plant? If so, I’d recommend keeping it in that pot as the roots will fill the pots and put more focus on leaf growth.

Just be aware of how much you water as you don’t want to cause root rot.

Hope this helps & welcome to the #MonsteraMob πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸͺ΄
I’d say 3 pots so they’re not competing for warer
My two cents is: I like a full pot.

I think I have 10 in a pot. I just counted. I say, if you have the room, keep them together.

If you want to care for more, separate them. (:
I want to to cut my top leaves and put the cuttings in the same pot to make bushier
I mean, I know the plant is happy in its bushy state for now. I’ve even started getting nice fenestrated leaves! They’re not too big though. I guess I’ll wait until it’s time to repot to make a definitive decision. πŸ˜…
@sarah10orio 10??!!😭 I’m astonished and jealous !! That’s phenomenal!
I got this monstera in IKEA, originally it had 4 plants in the pot, and decided to separate them on a sunny day back in January!
I put 2/1/1. And honestly the are all growing beautifully!
I personally prefer to have more fenestrated leaves and a clean look of them, than to have it bushy.
I guess it's a matter of taste!
I got 3 new leaves since Jan, and a new one is coming <3

My plant journey only begun about 4 months ago, however, one of the few benefits to being super
ADHD is when I get fixated on something, I fixate and that’s all I think about & read about πŸ˜‚
