Can any plants grow in coffee mugs?

Hey all! I just recently repaired a mug that I broke, and it has a perfect hole in the bottom that was too perfect, so I left it as a  draining hole. I was wondering if any plants can survive in coffee mugs or if this was a dumb idea. Thank you!

There shouldn’t be any issue at all, especially since it has drainage. I see people do it all the time. I think any plant that will survive in a regular ceramic pot will have no problem in a mug.

You can if you drill holes in it for drainage, but the easiest way, just put the plant in a planter with drainage holes and drop it into the mug. That way you can just pop it out to water or repot. Or change your mind about which plant goes in there😃
