Philodendron Prince of Orange vs Orange Smooth

Hi friends 🤗 I swear I just went to grab potting soil and perlite, but you already know what happened 🫣🛍️ But honestly, would you have said no to this? 😍🪴🧡 It’s labeled “Philodendron Orange Smooth,” which I’ve never heard of. When I google it, only Prince of Orange content comes up. Are they the same thing? Or is this a new cultivar? Either way, I’m in love. #Philodendron #PhiloFlock #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict #PlantTherapy #PlantID #PhiloAddict #GregGang #GreggersSupportingGreggers #PLANTMAFIA #babevila

You only live once, do what makes your heart happy! 💖 The plant Melisse sent looks a lot like the beauty that you just got. That's so cool they can have orange leaves 🧡
flowerFairy">@flowerFairy @UltraKoreanfir Thank you!! I couldn’t find any information or articles about it, only ones for sale, similar to the alocasia jungle cat! But I’m really stoked about it. I love the orange stems and the shiny leaves. As soon as I saw it, I was like that cartoon with the heart eyes popping out of his face 😂
flowerFairy">@flowerFairy I actually think the orange leaves are the Prince of Orange, which I was confusing this with! Thanks to Melisse, I searched the scientific name and found more info. According to Wikipedia, Orange Smooth or Philodendron Billitiae was first discovered in 1995 and has wavy green leaves and orange petioles. So that’s definitely my plant! I do still have Prince of Orange on my wishlist though! 🧡🧡🧡 And thank you for the validation—I’ve been on a wild plant-buying spree lately and I am slowing it down lol. I just keep finding all these gems!
Ohh okay I was starting to get confused with all the orange names! This one almost looks like an alocasia to me. Very pretty! And I know how it goes, sometimes I do the same when I need a pick me up 😊
