What are some good plants to have as a new plant parent?

I’ve been raising my spider plant Robert Plant since March and he’s been doing so well! I’ve been wanting to add more plants to my little oasis, but as a new plant parent, I’m wondering what kind of plants are A. Easy to care for (low maintenance), and B. Can be kept indoors (I live in a cold place, especially in the wintertime).

In the past, I’ve had succulents which I LOVED and have been thinking of getting more. I currently have a spider plant and also care for my roommate’s aloe vera. What other plants do you recommend to a new plant parent?

Aglaonema (chinese evergreen plants)
Hoya
Cast Iron Plant
African Violet
Philodendron (especially the self heading types like Moonlight or Prince of Orange)
Christmas Cactus
Monstera Deliciosa
Pothos
Syngonium
ZZ Plant (THE easiest!!!)
Btw, welcome to Greg!
@hoyahead oh my goodness!! Thank you so much for all the recommendations!! And thank you :) I’m so glad to be here. This app has been SO helpful for helping me take care of my little plant babies :)
@Buggythebard no problem! Let me know if you have any questions as you get settled in 🙂
Welcome! I agree with @hoyahead those are some great options 😃 most pothos are easy to raise, philodendrons, monsteras-there’s several types to choose from, cactus, some people struggle with ferns but there’s several that have been pretty easy for me to raise, zz plant, tradescantia-again several types, aloes. And you’re in a great community here on Greg everyone is so nice and helpful 😊

Welcome Bug! 😄
Do you mind if I ask what zone m you live in? Different zones have different pros and cons for certain plants so that can help narrow which will have the best chances in your climate. ☺️
@PlantingPeace for sure! I live in BC, Canada :)
