Brown edges & now brown holes appearing

Got this beauty shipped to me the other day & after a ton of research I’ve tried getting the set up just right: bright indirect light & plate with rocks and water underneath for humidity. I’ve only used purified water to bottom water it when I first got it because it seemed a little dry from the shipment. Note that I got it at a discounted price because I guess it’s seen better days. I didn’t repot because it doesn’t seem like it’s grown into this pot yet, so it’s still in the plastic drainage container it came in just slid into the larger pot. Over the past few days the edges on most of the leaves are browning & it’s getting little brown spots that are turning into holes. I know this was a big jump for me as a beginner plant dad but I love it so I’m really trying to get it better. I already cut off three leaves that had most of the brown on them. Should I repot it like I normally do to all my new plants or should I just leave it be? Cut all the leaves and start from scratch? Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated guys. The drama is top tier with this one. 🙄 I honestly just wish it would love me like I love it, but whatever. 🥹

@SlideInHisDM ah yes, calatheas. So difficult to please sometimes, try as we may 🤪. My bet is there’s a reason it was on sale and nothing to do with how you treated it in the short time you’ve had it. The underlying issue may be difficult to fix - perhaps it got overheated during shipping, or the change in water stressed it. It could be that it’s an older plant and it’s not as hardy as it once was. I’d give it a chance to acclimate to its new home before stressing it with new pot/soil. And don’t feel bad if it doesn’t make it. You put yourself out there with a difficult plant to keep happy and you’ll learn from this! I’ve learned to enjoy the calatheas while I can because it doesn’t take much to piss them off 🤪😜😝. Also sometimes they just don’t live that long 🤷‍♀️. I was happy to have a maranta for about 2.5 years. It was absolutely stunning until it wasn’t! 🤪😜💀🥺🫣
