Following Greg killed my plans

I've had three different sets of plants die now because Greg had me over watering them what do I do about that?
I set up all the parameters correctly just like I was supposed to.
I'm now lost an ivy the fern and a rubber tree plant and I'm not happy
What am I supposed to do now buy another app?
8ft to light, indirect
6” pot with drainage
Last watered 4 weeks ago

Hi Benjy, as a user of Greg app, I only use any watering schedule as a guide, not a guarantee, as it is only based on certain parameters entered into the app. There is no better way of checking any need for water than to learn to check the soil, usually with a finger or chopstick/skewer into the top inches of the soil. Attached it a useful diagram for watering. Another way, with small enough pots, is to learn the weight of the pot when dry and when watered.
And then some plants prefer a "dry and soak" method of watering compared to other plants. I have carnivorous plants which need constant access to water so were I to just rely on the app water scheduling solely, just would deny the water needs of those plants. That's why it's a guide only, not a hard and fast rule.
I hope this helps answer your question. All the best πŸ‘Œ πŸ‘
Im so sorry about your plants 😞 Greg makes its best guess about a watering schedule, but it doesn’t always get it right. I use a moisture meter, I know others test the soil with their finger. If it’s too early to water, you can snooze the reminder on Greg and will adjust your schedule over time.
