@ExactThemiller That brown tip is just your snake plant being a little dramatic itβs usually from overwatering, dry indoor air, or a bit of physical damage. To keep it from getting worse, let the soil dry out completely between waterings, skip the misting, and keep her in bright, indirect light. Avoid cold drafts or sudden temperature changes, and if the brown tip bugs you, you can trim it off with clean scissors just donβt cut into the healthy green part. The rest of your plant looks great, so sheβs just throwing a tiny tantrum, not a full breakdown.
@ExactThemiller A little "Did you know...?" If/when the tip of a snake plant breaks off the leaf will discontinue growing and never get taller. The leaf won't die but its growth is stunted at that point. When I read that I went through my snake plants and removed the leaves without tips. Cut them off as close to the base as possible and shortly afterwards, I want to say like within a day or two new pups started coming up! I took the leaves that I cut and propagated them making even more snake plants. π Just an option if you wanted to do it as well. ππ«Ά
@ExactThemiller I'm sorry you forgot to add my @princesspitstop and it didn't give me a notification lol βΊοΈ ok all of them won't make it. I planted like 8 only three of them gave me pups. And it takes a long time so maybe you just didn't wait long enough for it to root. All I did was cut a piece of the leaf up in triangles or arrows. Make sure you remember what your top cut is because the bottom is what's going to go into the soil. So basically you have to plant them the way that the stem grew into the soil. does that make sense? I stuck them in some Cactus soil mixed with perlite. I didn't really water it until it got roots and you could always kind of give it a little tug to see if it gives or not or every now and then I would kind of take him out of the soil gently to see if it had roots or not and a couple of times that I did that that's when I noticed the pups. But yeah like I said plant quite a few of them because not all of them will produce and give it some time like a few months time. And then water it like you would normally water a snake plant let the soil dry out and then give it a drink and then don't until the soil dries out again. I know you can do it. If I can do it you can do it. Lol
@princesspitstop whatβs the best way to propagate the snake plant I have tried in water and didnβt work π
@SunshineJb Directly into soil. Don't water them just cut a leaf up and stick into the soil like I did mine in the picture above.
@SunshineJb It takes forever for them to make pups so be patient. The pup gets everything it needs from the cutting of the leaf so you don't have to do anything. Once you see that the leaf has roots start watering but always make sure that the soil completely dries out before you water it again.
@princesspitstop thank you hun I need to why it !
@SunshineJb I believe in you!! Just be patient with them. Cut a few of them up because they all won't make pups so the more you cut the better the chances. If you get stuck when doing it email me and I'll walk you through it! heidilummus1210@gmail.com
