Why are my sunflower leaves drooping?

Hello, im very new!! This happened to my sunflower leaves within 1 hour! They looked fine, then when i got back home, they are drooping and wilting :( their soil was dry so i watered them and still after a few hours they are wilting. Can they come back from this? Not sure what to do
15” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 year ago
Ashley, has it been hot in New York?
You were right to give your sunflowers 🌻 a good drink of water when you got back home! After you watered the soil, did you move the plant to the shade? The drooping leaves could be a combination of overheating and too much sunlight. If you haven’t already, I would move the pot to a shady area in your yard to let the leaves recover.
@theloveofplants it has been pretty hot but today is one of the cooler days! There is not much shade, but i have just moved them & got them covered under a chair. Hopefully they will pull through!
@UndauntedBeans7 | Yes, I am hoping so too! Sounds like you caught them just β€œin time.” They need to recover from the heat and sun. Keep me posted on what they look like as the day goes on!
@theloveofplants they are already looking much more lively! Thankfully there is a thunderstorm here so they will have their seemingly much needed cool down for the rest of the day. Thanks for your help, youre a true plant-life saver!!!
Awww yay! πŸ˜ƒ This makes me smile! The sunflowers look so happy now! You are welcome! I am so glad I was able to help! πŸ’œ
