Why are there brown spots forming on my Jade plant?
Hey, Lexy! Welcome to Greg πΏ
It can be either sunburn or scale. If you are able to slightly scrape it off or pick at it and some comes off, then itβs Scale.
If scale, dip a cotton swab in isopropyl alcohol (less than 70%) and hold it on the scales hard shell for about 15-20 seconds. Hopefully this should kill any scale or remains. You can also spray your jade with an insecticide/fungicide, but make sure not to expose it to light when sprayed, it will burn the leaves of your Jade.
If itβs not Scale, it could be sunburn or oedema. If the undersurface of the leaf is less affected than the upper side, suspect a high salt level. If the underside is worse, suspect oedema.
