Can I prune the plant ?

Yes. You can trim off the lower leaves and leave the upper 8" to 10" inches bushy with leaves. This will reroute the energy of the plant into pushing out new growth and new leaves, as opposed to supporting older leaves. This will make the plant appear taller, and healthier! The attached picture is the "look" that you'll be going for once it's pruned and primped. ♡
