There are granules made from coyote urine. Don't worry they don't stink. Comes in a shaker canister usually. Just shake it on the tops of the pots . Bad news is it needs reapplied every few weeks or after rains.
Are option 2 is chicken wire cut out around the plant and placed in the pots before huge growth starts
Just on the surface. Then cover it with mulch or more media. If you don't want to see it .

The chicken wire try is great if you do it as your potting. But it's a pain after it's growing
