Is it root rot?

I just chopped off about half of her leaves :(((( because they look wrinkly, translucent, and started to curl in. I apparently was doing a few things wrong, including not using distilled water. However, I want to rule out overwatering/root rot as a cause because that needs immediate treatment. I have since been educated on her finicky nature and have got her a humidifier, airy soil, a plastic bag, and water from the dehumidifer, so hopefully the leaves that are still on can survive the dreadful fate of their dead cousins. #help #CalatheaCrew

I don't know much about calathea, but the rule of thumb is not to cut off more than 25% of the leaves. Cutting more than 25% stresses the plant.
@SvelteKingfern Thanks Sophie! I hope she pulls through ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ I had no idea
No worries. I know a lot about succulents. Tag me if you encounter any problems. ๐ŸŒต๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค—
