Best way to repot and trim a String of Dolphins?

My #StringOfDolphins have been through a few moves (and short stints of forgetting to water themπŸ˜…) over the past 2 years. I'm thinking I need to repot and trim as the leaves towards the ends of the vines are splayed out flat and there are a few dried vines (see attached pics).

Any advice for the best way to do this without losing too much growth at the crown? Do I repot bigger or same size? Should I change the soil out to some succulent soil? (I wasn't aware there were different kinds when I first got this plant).

Any help is much appreciated! πŸ™ #succulentsquad #happyplants

@CallisiaRepens Hello replanting would be a great nutrition boost for sure . If you have a succulent soil mix even better . The rule of thumb on repotting is one size up . If you like all the fluff just take the browning out after repotting . You got this 🀞
@ILoveMyPlants Thanks for the advice! I was thinking to pick up some more succulent mix... would you recommend mixing that with perlite or sand? I'm not sure how wet they like their roots...

I finally have a decent spot to put a hanging plant so I want to get this one there. It's in a hanging pot rn but there's no way to catch draining water so I think I need to get a new pot (oh no, going to the plant store, whatever shall I do πŸ€πŸ˜‚).
@CallisiaRepens If it was mine I’d bottom water when needed. I make my own soil with sand , perlite and perlite and orchid bark or charcoal . So you’re in good shape .
What should you do ? I’ll tell you what this community did to me (lol) turned me into a plant addict .
@ILoveMyPlants I know! I'm gonna come home with a new pot and probably 2 or 3 new plants. πŸ˜…
@CallisiaRepens Ha Ha I’ gotta thank you for the laugh you gave me πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ It’s just too darn cute . I’m painting some pots today , then I’ll get started on the macrame hangers . Making this stuff justifies my need for more plants to hubby .
