Congratulations on your new Phalaenopsis orchid! These orchids thrive in bright, indirect light. If youβre using a plant light, aim for about 12 to 14 hours of light each day. Position the light about 12 to 18 inches away from the plant to prevent leaf burn. If you notice the leaves turning yellow, it might be getting too much light, while dark green leaves may indicate it needs more light.
Additionally, keep your orchid in a location with good air circulation, as this helps prevent issues like mold and rot. Water your orchid when the top inch of the potting medium feels dry, and ensure the pot has proper drainage to avoid overwatering. Lastly, consider fertilizing every couple of weeks with a balanced orchid fertilizer during the growing season to support healthy growth. Enjoy your orchid journey!

My orchid is doing very well under grow lights for 12 hours at night, in my basement, starting at 7:00 pm. The blooms that are currently on it have been there for over 2 months. I water about once per month from the bottom of the pot which has holes in the bottom which sits in another pot, enabling bottom watering. Another sucker has started to grow. My basement is unfinished and insulated at the sides, so maintains temperature very well. Good luck!
