How do I water my #StringOfHearts? 💖🌿💧

Just now getting around to repotting a few plants before winter officially hits here in #CentralTexasGang and noticed that my string of hearts have these little rhizome-bulb looking things! From my understanding, this can happen from overwatering? I don’t water often since temps have dropped and I always use the feel of leaves to tell when it needs a drink of water.

I don’t want to kill them since my big #PlantSis @ManyLime gifted them to me after my little #vsoh died 🥲

How do I go about watering? How do I make sure I don’t 💀💀 them? 🤔

TIA 🌿🫶🏽

You're doing perfectly fine plant mom! It's normal for them!

For future watering SoH, do the " taco 🌮 test" just like on hoyas. If the leaf folds like a taco, water, if it's stiff, don't.
Mine has those little rhizomes bulb thingies. From what I've read they form new roots and growth from those,.
I water (butt chug) mine about every 10 days.
Plus I use 50/50 pothos and rain water 😉
@LatiTish84 if you ever are ready to giveaway a black gem baby, I’ll gladly take one and pay shipping 🥹 ur pups looks so good!! AND YOU HAVE SO MANY! 🤩💖
@Sassylimey Oh that makes me feel better then! Thank you so much Sarah! I keep forgetting to buttchug every other watering 🤣

I do have some rain water I recently collected!!
@jaysjungle Thank you so much, Jay! Appreciate the comment and advise 🫶🏽🥹
Hey lady!
I buttchug mines too! Like once every 10-12 days. You're a great plant momma, I'm sure it will be fine!
Oh, I'm curious what kind of mix you used?

I use my chunky aroid mix and add about ⅓ sand for my strings of things. They seem to love it! Fast draining so no worries about soggy soil. But the chunky mix holds on to just enough moisture that they only need watering about once a month.
@jaysjungle ooo! I can’t afford much so I usually make my own with HEB brand products! I use their succulent mix (semi-chunky), perlite and a handful of coco bark! 😁
@kscape perfect! Now just give those hearts plenty of light and they'll be hanging to the floor in no time!
