Does anyone know what happened to my pothos?
It hasnβt grown much at all in the past couple of months and I canβt tell if the stems are drying up or if they are rotting. What should I do?

I agree with @Araceae , definitely looks like rot (when the stems turn black and mushy like that at the base, it's from overwatering; if the plant was drying up from lack of water, the edges of the leaves would turn brown and crispy). When you have a pot inside another pot like in the pic, the soil is going to stay wet for a lot longer due to the lack of air circulation. Since plastic pots are non-porous they hold onto moisture, so if you tend to overwater your plants you might consider terracotta pots instead. They're porous and breathable, so the soil will dry out much faster.
Pothos like their soil to almost completely dry out between waterings (better to underwater than overwater). If you're using Greg's watering reminders, think of them as suggestions more than anything. You still need to manually check the soil firstβif it's still damp, click the "snooze" button and the app will remind you again in a few days. The reminders will become more accurate over time.

@iNeedMorePlants I agree with @Araceae looks like they have been overwatered. You can always talk a couple leaves with a little stem put them in water and start over. Thatβs what I did.
