Dry Leaf Ends

#RabbitTracks

Why do the ends of the leaves turn brown and dry? What can I do to prevent that?
1ft to light, direct
8” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
@SwellHardbeech Hey and Welcome to GregπŸ’š Humidity is the answer. These plants are finicky about needing humidity. You could put a pebble tray underneath that might help. A humidifier is good to if you have more then one. Amazon also has personal humidifiers, so cute they are. Also don't let the soil stay wet or they will also brown.
@SwellHardbeech I see your in New Mexico. Wishlist place to go but if the air is dry I would get one for them.
Try using unchlorinated water. If you use tap water and it has chlorine in it let it set out for 24 hrs before you water or use distilled water. Your water should always be room temperature. See if that works. Good Luck
Hey fellow New Mexican! I live in Farmington. We have really hard water here and I only use distilled and rain water if I can get it. Tips turn brown if watering is inconsistent and Aldo lack of humidity.
@ShannonMHR thank you for the tips! I am going to look into a personal humidifier.
@RewardingRedfir thank you for the tips! I thought I had heard that before and am glad you mentioned it.
@CoolNoblefir hey to you fellow New Mexican! I have not been to Farmington but hope to one day. We have hard water too. It's awful! I appreciate the tip! I am going to start with that and getting a humidifier. Not much humidity here on the southwest.
@SwellHardbeech same here in the northwest.
@SwellHardbeech , @CoolNoblefir I to am in a very dry state, Montana. I have 2 for the grow room. The air from the vents and environment was doing a number on them. One helped a little but it wasn't til the second that I could keep it at no lower then 55. Here is one of the personal humidifiers I got for my Calatheas in the beginning.

@ShannonMHR thank you for sharing. I'm getting on this right away!
