Is my plant dying?
Hi,
This is my first plant ever! Growing up my mom always had aloe Vera so I was hoping I could have my own here in El Paso, TX. I got the plant from someone on Facebook marketplace and I repotted in an 8inch pot with drains. I gave it water and some of the succulent food that they sell at Home Depot. It does get a lot of direct sun during the day. Iβm wondering if I gave it too much water or itβs getting too much sun?? Please help, I donβt want it to die π

Hi Karen. Your aloe vera is changing colour to light greenish brownish and looks translucent. That means you're watering it too often. The soil needs to be really dry, deep to the bottom of the pot (you can check with the toothpick when you stick it in soil whether it comes out dry or not). Observe the leaves also, if a bit wrinkly then it's time to water, no sooner.
When you water, pour in a good gulp of water. Look whether water begins to drip out of the drainage hole.
Water late in the evening, so the plant can drink that water during the night. Do not water when the Sun is hot, water will evaporate before the plant can have a drink.
I hope this will help.
