Aw MAN! I'm sorry you're going through this. I didn't recognize this plant so I had to look it up. But I see that it's an evergreen.

The first thing I thought of was it missed a few days of being watered. I see it's in a pot and I'm not sure how sunny it is there, but here in the South, I have to water mine several times a week when they are outside. Sometimes I water some daily becuase of the heat.

If you did scratch the trunk and it's still green, I would recommend cutting back any dead stems. If they aren't dead, but the leaves, I would recommend removing the leaves.

Removing the leaves will allow you to have a better view when the shrub begins to push out new growth.
