@UprightMira I would say more sunlight and until it recovers try to keep the soils slightly moist. NOT WET! You would be surprised how many issues more sunlight fixes, it’s the most important thing for plants! I hope this helped a little bit! Good Luck!πŸͺ΄πŸŒΊ
An elephant bush loses its leaves due to overwatering, underwatering, improper light, high humidity, temperature fluctuations, or pests, all of which can stress the plant. To fix it, allow the soil to dry completely between waterings, ensure it's in well-draining succulent/cactus soil, provide 4-5 hours of direct sunlight daily, and monitor for pests.
Check the Soil & Watering
Overwatering:
This is a very common cause. If the soil is constantly wet, the roots can rot. The leaves may look plump and then turn yellow or green before falling off.
Fix: Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Water only when the soil is dry to the touch.
Underwatering:
Leaves will look wrinkled and shriveled.
Fix: Water deeply when the soil is dry. Check soil moisture by sticking your finger deep into the soil.
Poor Drainage:
Use a fast-draining succulent or cactus potting mix. You can also add perlite to regular potting soil to improve drainage.
Light & Temperature
Too Little Light:
Elephant bushes need 4-5 hours of direct sunlight daily.
Fix: Move the plant to a brighter spot.
Extreme Temperature Changes:
Sudden shifts in temperature can cause leaf drop.
Fix: Avoid placing the plant near heating or air conditioning vents.
High Humidity:
This can also cause problems for the plant.
Fix: Move the plant to a room with more airflow or use a dehumidifier.
Pests
Infestations: Pests like spider mites, mealybugs, and scale can weaken the plant and cause leaves to turn yellow and fall.
Fix: Inspect the plant for pests and treat them as needed.
Environmental Changes
Stress from Repotting: Moving an elephant bush can sometimes cause it to drop leaves as it adjusts to a new environment.
Fix: Be patient, as the plant will usually recover.
I also think it’s in too big of a pot. I would go smaller 4”.
