Hi! Prayer plants are part of the Calathea family. These plants don’t need weekly watering. They also don’t like bright light. They love the neglect and dryer soil with the occasional watering. Use distilled water or rain water. My prayer plants are only being watered once every three weeks as long as the soil is dry. They have paper thin foliage so they don’t need lots of moisture in the soil. Humidity: yes. Lots of water in the soil: no. Just back off the watering and trim off the brown/yellow areas. They really don’t like attention so give it a peek in about 1.5-2 weeks to see how it’s doing after you trim it. 🌿
Is she in a terracotta pot? If so move her to a pot that is porcelain or ceramic. Terra cotta pulls the moisture away from the plants roots resulting in a very sad calathea.

I'll give you some tips I've learned along the way ❀️

1. Only use distilled or rainwater. They are very sensitive to chemicals in tap water.

2. Indirect light, they love grow light mine get 12 hours a day under grow lights.

3. Water when the soil is about halfway dry allow the top inch or two to dry out but never allow them to go completely dry that will cause crispy curled leaves.

4. Humidity they love it you
can increase it by using pebble trays below them filled with a little water. The evaporation increases humidity. Also clustering plants together increases humidity as you can see by my photos that's what I do. A humidifier would also be a great option.

5. Avoid areas by heat vent or a/c they don't like temperature fluctuations. Interior walls are best to provide a stable temp.

6. A ceramic or porcelain pot is best it allows the roots time to absorb water while still provide aeration through the pot.
