Soggy Spot and Leaf Burn

#PinstripePlant My plant has just developed a soft center to a leaf. I am checking for root rot tomorrow, but I feel that if it was root rot, this would present very differently. However, I’ve also been struggling with leaf crisping on the calathea. It’s in a relatively humid area now, but I don’t know how to better aid its recovery. If anyone has suggestions, that’d be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

@Boopeboope Calatheas are fussy as hell. Sorry no other way to put it. First, try a self watering pot. Then address humidity, they love humidity. A pebble tray wouldn’t hurt either. Light should be indirect. Full sun burns the leaves
@GreenPurpose Ah I so know they’re fussy. They’re very particular LOL. But I love the little guy. I do have it in indirect light in my bathroom, so it gets a good amount of humidity and has been doing amazing in there. But, I haven’t heard about self watering pots so I’ll have to look and find one. Thank you!
@Boopeboope also (when using this app I feel like I’m typing blind) but Calathea absolutely detests tap water. Make sure it’s good water or even rain water.
@GreenPurpose 👀 That’s something I definitely haven’t heard before. I’ll be sure to use distilled water from now on. It hasn’t rained here for a bit, but I’ll use it when I can. Would you suggest using water from a fish tank sometimes? I’ve heard for some plants it’s very good and I use it for plants that are easy to care for. They love it. I just haven’t used it for Disco Ball cause they’re finicky.
