LOTS OF LIL BUGS

I was just checking in on my #GoldenPothos and I saw a bunch of these tiny beige-white insects running around. There were a bunch on the rim o the pot and they kept popping up out of nowhere. What are this things? How’d they get here? Are they bad? What do I do? Please help I’m very scared 🫠

@jtizzle those look like soil mites. Those indicate healthy eco system and they’re not anything to worry about. Spider mites are red and/or have black spots and each side of them.

Here is an at home spray I make that I use preventatively for pests. It works very well. Instead of cinnamon sticks you can use cinnamon oil. You can add a couple drops of Thyme or tea tree oil as well. It keeps the bad stuff at bay and smells great.

Home Depot/Lowes/ Ace Hardware etc will have an insecticide you can buy. Look for neem oil in the ingredients.
Oh no, I would be too! Maybe aphids? Do you have any neem oil you can spray them with? And maybe isolate the plant if you can!!!
I almost think spider mites, but there would be leaf damage before them popping up. Also, a lot of webs.
@PatientCowslip it is isolated already thankfully. I don’t have any neem oil, where’s a good place to get some and what should I look for?
@jtizzle oh and here is this:

Hi..you can use a couple of drops of dish soap diluted and spray the plant ..1 part dish detergent to 2 parts water..they look like aphids to me. Good luck.
@TheOddAsity wow thank you so much for sharing I will try to make some of that. A lot of people are saying they could be aphids which are harmful. Are you sure these are soil mites?
@jtizzle did you just water your plant? Are those bugs on the leaves? Soil mites will exit the soil when you water. Aphids will be all over the leaves. How many legs are there? Greg has issues letting people zoom in too far.
@TheOddAsity I last watered about a week ago. There weren’t any of them on the leaves. If I shake the pot they seem to come out of the soil
@jtizzle my guess is soil mites. But, if you’re worried about aphids, Mixing 1 tsp dish soap with 1 cup of water and putting in a spray bottle and saturating the leaves and the soil with the solution kills aphids. The solution won’t hurt your plant.
Dawn dishwashing soap just a little bit in a spray bottle and Spray it. That will kill them.
Hi @jtizzle!
I have used my fair share of time studying the microsystem in some of my plants soilπŸ™ˆ

I think the bugs in your pictures looks a lot like rove-mitesπŸ€” Check out my pics if you think they look similar. Sientific name: Stratiolaelaps ScimitusπŸͺ²

They do not jump like the springtails, and are faster than the soil-mites, both which you usually also will find in your potting-soil working on decomposing it.

Rove-mites lives of hunting down other micro-bugs in your soil, like springtails, soil-mites, and bad bugs like fungus-gnat-larvae.πŸͺ΄πŸ›πŸ¦
Hello. This has worked for me: https://a.co/d/5RKbLxt
