Dramatic polka dot plant
I recently bottomwatered my polka dot plant and the stems and leaves were all nice and upright untilβ¦. i removed the tray and in a few hours they fell again. The soil is very moist and I do not think it needs water. Is it overwatered? Why is it looking sad? #PolkaDotPlant #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #HappyPlants #Indoorplants

Itβs because when it was in the water tray the water was evaporating creating humidity your plant needed.
Mine did the same thing, polka dot plants need so much humidity. If you cover it with a bag, mason jar, clear cup or even a ziplock bag to keep humidity trapped around the leaves it will stay perky and nice. I keep mine in terrariums now and they are hassle free.

@SuperbRaspfern awww I migjt need to check the terrariums now. This is the first time my plant drooped like this :( It was good outside without any extra humidity before but my good time has passed I reckon⦠my plant is growing up
@SirStretchberry what soil mix do you have it in? You might need a soil mix that's more water retaining. I see a lot of perlite in the photo, so either too much perlite mixed with the soil or it's all floated to the top. Polka dots need consistently, evenly moist soil, and too much perlite will dry out it out much faster between waterings.
@stephonicle I have used this potting mix : https://www.bunnings.com.au/scotts-osmocote-10l-indoor-plants-premium-potting-mix_p0164627 - the white dots you see are actually tiny pebbles on top to retain moisture . Polka dot plants do be dramatic! π€£ They are the one plant I usually keep in a pot without drainage. It lets me go longer between waterings and they sure do love it. However I recently switched to a self-watering pot which has the same effect, and the added bonus of creating humidity as the water in the reservoir evaporates. Itβs been hassle-free!
@BabeVila Perfect thanknyouuu i might just do the sammeeeee
