I'll help you though since I can across your post. If they are small and black it's fungus gnats.

You don't need bug spray. If you allow the top 2 inches of soil to dry out it kills off the larvae and eggs. Plus the mature ones flying will not lay eggs in dry soil.

The other option is to water with:

Mix 3 parts water with
1 part 3% peroxide (the same kind you probably have sitting around the house in your bathroom)

When you need to water water with this mix it kills them on contact.
In addition to @SuperbRaspfern comment, I bottom water if I have fungus gnats so the top of the soil is dry and they won’t lay eggs. Works for me!
