I cannot stop this plant from dying

#LipstickVine hey guys! I got this plant probably about a month ish ago. since then, it has been slowly having the leaves dry up and fall off. what does it need??
4ft to light, direct
9” pot with drainage
Last watered 4 months ago
it looks way worse than when i got it
Hi Andrew, my first thought is perhaps looking at whether it gets enough light. 8 feet from a window is generally way too far for a β€œpart sun” or β€œbright indirect light” plant like this one unless of course you are using a grow light. A good rule of thumb for light when you aren’t using a grow light is to place the plant in a spot where it can see the sky from the window (avoiding direct sun, unless it’s maybe an hour or two in the morning only). Plants grown in nurseries rarely have perfect growing conditions when we bring them home so a bit of a decline can be expected but you do want to make sure the plant is getting the light it needs to grow especially if you’re acclimating it to a very different home environment. ☺️
