Large form Monstera spots
I found these spots under a leaf on a large form Monstera I purchased a few weeks ago, and I’m not sure if they’re a sign of fungus or a pest - any tips? 😬😬 #Monstera
9ft to light, indirect
14” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 week ago

Looks like scale, @MonsteraMe is correct, take a Q tip dipped in alcohol and rub it in those spots. I would also isolated your plant and keep an eye on your other plants. Here's an article that may help you. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/insects/control-plant-scale.htm
All the best and happy growing 🥰🌱🌿💛
I would use some alcohol on a q tip and run it over the spot.
Those are definitely scale
Sorry you have this problem. Rubbing alcohol should help. 🤨
Oh no! 😳 I applied rubbing alcohol but didn’t notice anything - no movement or response. I guess it would explain the lack of growth, but it’s been in my main room (with all of my plants) after quarantining. 😩
So I’ve decided to prune the Monstera down to the few least affected leaves, and then go to town with a Castile soap dilution and neem oil on everything. It looks like only 1-2 other plants are affected so far. I wanted to avoid repotting, but am concerned about the problem coming back in 2-3 weeks if eggs/larvae are in the soil.
