Large form Monstera spots
I found these spots under a leaf on a large form Monstera I purchased a few weeks ago, and I’m not sure if they’re a sign of fungus or a pest - any tips? 😬😬 #Monstera

9ft to light, indirect

14” pot with drainage

Last watered 1 week ago

Looks like scale, @MonsteraMe is correct, take a Q tip dipped in alcohol and rub it in those spots. I would also isolated your plant and keep an eye on your other plants. Here's an article that may help you. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/insects/control-plant-scale.htm

So I’ve decided to prune the Monstera down to the few least affected leaves, and then go to town with a Castile soap dilution and neem oil on everything. It looks like only 1-2 other plants are affected so far. I wanted to avoid repotting, but am concerned about the problem coming back in 2-3 weeks if eggs/larvae are in the soil.
