at what point do i give it the big chop
My once magnificent rattlesnake plant has suffered after a semester of no light in my new dorm. I repotted it into a smaller pot after it got root rot but it is still losing leaves. When should I decapitate the poor thing

I wouldn’t yet — add light and humidity. I moved mine into the bathroom and added a halo grow light. It’s been thriving ever since.
