When to re-pot?

I’ve had this calathea for about 3 weeks now, and I’m wondering if it’s a bit big for its nursery pot. There aren’t any roots sticking out the drainage holes yet. (It was a little bigger, but I pruned a couple of leaves that got damaged in shipping.)

It doesn't matter how big the foliage is what matters is how big the root system is. So is there a lot of roots? Or just a tiny bit in the middle of the pot. If it's loaded with roots then yes I would do a bigger pot.
If you pull the plant out and all of the soil comes out with the plants roots it's usually a sign it's ready to re-pot or very close to re-pot time.
Leave it alone if you want it to live 😅
