Good morning Summer!
But... it's not Summer where you live, it's Winter!

I have a Croton Petra also. He loves being warm and bright. I just moved him from directly under a gro light to indirect lighting to see if that helps him go into some form of dormancy. My Croton has the opposite senerio of yours. Producing many huge leaves!

Anyway, I'd suggest to get him away from that cold window and move him to an area in your home where he receives warmth, light, and humidity. All plants need humidity, especially if our homes are heated during the cold months.

Is your Croton still in a nursery pot?

I'm sure that lots of other Greggers can help you about your question if the leaves will gow back.

Could you please take a new photo today of your plant and add it to your question?
That may be helpful. Thanks
I’m not an expert on Crotonβ€˜s either, but it looks like the leaves are under the soil. I don’t see a central stem. If there are no leaves now I think I might unplug it and kind of look and see what the structure is. I think it wasn’t potted properly. But I could be wrong.
There are pretty thorough references on your plant on line. I can see they grow without stem showing so I probably was wrong in the previous post but there’s a good section on what to do if the Croton loses its leaves . I read one from a commercial outlet and learned a lot about Croton’s. I can’t post it because it conflicts with Greg but you can look it up. I used to have Croton’s outside but they froze one year. Maybe I’ll get a few for the inside now.
