Help me save him 😭

Hi good morning everyone.

I bought this little guy at Home Depot recently as he was the last one and I’ve been wanting one. It was already looking pretty sad when I bought it but I was hoping to get some recommendations on how to potentially save it. I placed it in front of a west facing window and haven’t repotted it yet. I spritzed it with some water the day I got it as well but haven’t since then (it’s been about a week).

Only bottom water your SOH, also no tap water, only rain or distilled. Make sure your pot has drainage holes. I also would recommend using a much more shallow pot for SOH. Their root system is different and they have tubers that can rot, if they have too much space (leading to excess moisture in the soil). Well draining gritty soil is best.
Oh πŸ˜ƒ You should REALLY check them roots, always when purchasing a plant from a store, nursery, whatever. It could be root rot, and I see no drainage holes sooo better open some quick 🀧
Repot it n stuff idk
Also bright indirect lighting. No direct sun, but a southern window , or grow lights works well. I keep mine on my shaded porch. It loves it !
@ShinyLemon69 string of hearts, arrows and turtles don’t like to get their leaves wet. So bottom water and yes, check its roots. Also tag some groups to get attention. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #PlantAddict hopefully you’ll get some more answers if you copy and paste hashtags to your post.
@TidyTigerpear I will get on it. Thank you 😊 I’ll have to keep everyone updated. Is there anything I can do to fix the root rot if that’s happening? Or is it too late if that’s the case?
my SOH is outside and THRIVING. she only gets water from rain and gets morning sun. with SOH, you can look up the β€œtaco test” for her leaves to tell when it needs watering! πŸ™‚
