Monstera help!
So I got this monstera a few weeks ago at Aldi (donβt come at me it was $15 π) and I repotted it into chunky well draining mix, ima pot only a little bigger than the root ball. Itβs by this window and gets great morning sunlight. I just got a humidifier yesterday too so I have that over there. The roots looked really healthy but the leaves keep turning yellow and the new leaves are turning brown. Any tips?? I really donβt want it to die off until itβs like 2 leaves like my last one that Iβm now rehabbing π
Are you checking the soil first before watering? If you stick your finger (or a plain wooden chopstickβlike youβre testing a cake. If soil clings to it, itβs not ready for water yet!) into the soil and a couple knuckles down it still feels dry or warm then it IS time to water, but if it still feels damp or cold, then it is NOT time yet, and either check again in 2-3 days or hit the βsnoozeβ button and Greg will remind you again later. The opposite is also true, if Greg hasnβt notified you yet, but your soil is dry when you check it, then you can water and let Greg know that youβve watered early. Eventually Gregβs notifications will start syncing up more accurately because it learns with your early waterings and snoozes, but in the beginning itβs just an educated guess.
Also, NO ONE will judge you for getting a plant at Aldi π heck, I find plants at Home Depot and Walmart sometimes. The plant is the important thing π

@DreamMachine I do check before I water! But with monsteras Iβve heard so many different things, do I water when itβs mostly dry or wait until itβs fully dry?
@SavantStarlotus I personally wait until mine are fully dry, otherwise new growth starts coming in brown/black. Is that happening with yours?
